Stormwater works on The Strand

Stormwater works on The Strand

From Monday 18 November until Wednesday 20 November, motorists will not be able to access Ronayne Street from The Strand. For these three days next week, access to Ronayne Street will therefore only be possible from Beach Road.

Transit New Zealand Regional Manager Wayne McDonald appreciates the co-operation from motorists and explains that the temporary closure of the turning lanes is critical for the construction of the new stormwater pipeline. Work on this massive 2.3m diameter pipeline currently involves the construction of a stormwater chamber directly beneath The Strand.

The project is being carried out as part of the Grafton Gully Project. Further information is available from the public information centre at the corner of Stanley St & Alten Rd or by phoning 0800 ToFreeflow (0800 863 733).
