The Funky Hot Mamas to Heat Up Cathedral Square on New Years Eve!

Tuesday 31st December Cathedral Square, 9.30pm to 12.30am 1st January, Cathedral Square. FREE

The Funky Hot Mamas will burn up Cathedral Square on Tuesday December 31st at the New Year's Eve Party - the first of this years SummerTimes(tm) feature events.

SummerTimes(tm) celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and the pace will be set by a great nights entertainment on New Years Eve.

Lou Days and Leigh Wilson are The Funky Hot Mamas, and with years of cabaret, stage and band experience under their belts, they have a stunning show lined up.

" We are doing the ultimate tribute show for anyone who has ever requested a song!" says Lou. " Almost everyone has asked a band at some point; 'Do you know such-n-such a song?" and so we're going to do all the most popular hits of the last 40 years".

There will be plenty of opportunities for the crowd to sing along, and the pace will be fast, furious and full on.

6 seasoned musicians with a rhythm section, horns, keyboards and percussion will support them, and the play list is impressive. Numbers by Santana, The Beatles and Stevie Wonder join a tribute to Aretha Franklin and The Bee Gees, as well as hits from The Blues Brothers.

The Funky Hot Mamas are supported by The Bubblemen playing crowd favourites, and after the big countdown to 2003, the show will finish at 12.30am.
