West Coast Ragwort Control Project
The West Coast
Development Trust is please to announce a donation of
$24,000 to be made to the New Zealand Landcare Trust, on
behalf of the West Coast Biological Ragwort Control
Group.
The West Coast Biological Ragwort Control Project
is a three year project aimed at controlling ragwort on the
West Coast, as ragwort is considered to be a serious pest
plant.
The West Coast Biological Ragwort Control Group
consists of interested parties and key stakeholders, such as
the West Coast Regional Council, Westland Milk Products and
the Department of Conservation.
The anticipated results of
the project include increase pasture utilisation and
improved animal health.
