P.U.M.P to Play Soul, Funk R'n'B and Hip Hop

FREE Friday Lunchtime Concert, Cathedral Square, Friday 7th February 2003 12.15pm to 1.45pm

P.U.M.P - aka Pacific Underground Music Production, will present soul, funk, R 'n' B and hip hop music spliced with Pacific beats and nuances this Friday in Cathedral Square. Their CD Landmark has been described as 'silky smooth' by Pavement magazine. The band supported Ben Harper in his 2000 Christchurch performance, and was featured at 'Tasi' and this years 'Tusa' Pacific Island Festivals. Describing themselves as a 'performing arts organisation encompassing theatre, music, dance, and visual arts', P.U.M.P have been heralded for their efforts to push forward the talents of local Maori and Pacific Islanders, and they have recently received funding to produce a follow-up compilation entitled Landmark II.
