Works Committee to discuss Auckland City’s dog control bylaw

Cr Bill Christian, Works Committee chairperson, wants the city to look at whether or not Part 12 of the bylaw should be strengthened or added to, these include specific sections under 12.2: Dogs in public places: 12.2.1 – Dogs to be confined to owners property 12.2.2 – Dogs to be under proper control 12.2.5 – Areas where dogs are not allowed 12.2.6 – Exercise areas 12.2.8 – Dog surveillance

“It’s painfully obvious that we must keep working very hard nationwide to enforce dog control measures in public places,” says Cr Christian. “I applaud the Minister’s initiative in calling for a revision of bylaws, we must follow in the same vein.”
