Light Up At Otara Music Arts Centre Next Term

Light Up At Otara Music Arts Centre Next Term

A lighting spectacular workshop is just one of the classes and workshops on offer at Manukau City Council’s Otara Music Arts Centre (OMAC) next term.

Programme Co-ordinator, Ruth Thompson says, “The workshop aims to assist amateur and community organisations such as theatre groups, churches or anyone wanting to run a large event. It will cover lighting display, erecting and positioning your lighting, buying/hiring the right lighting, strobe lighting and more. New lighting products, including the latest lighting innovations, will be on display. People should enrol by 30 May for this fantastic class.”

Tutor Adrian Kingsford returns this term with a Motivational Drama and Drumming Workshop. The key elements of this workshop will be the use of beat sequences and the development of choreographed movements. The workshop provides a forum for music learning for teachers, group leaders and community groups tutoring children and adults.

OMAC is again running their usual popular piano and vocal classes. Their guitar classes, which proved popular last term, include bass, acoustic and electric guitar, with all levels being catered for from beginners through to advanced.

“From Hip Hop dance sessions where you can learn the latest J.lo or Brittany Spears dance moves with new tutor Jade Martin, to our hulacise workshop where you can improve your fitness, there is a class to suit all levels, ages and personal tastes” says Ms Thompson.
