Cathedral Square set to Swing

FREE Friday Lunchtime concert Cathedral Square, 11 March 12.15 pm- 1.15pm

Cathedral Square visitors are in for a trip down Memory Lane this Friday as Sideline Swing, complete with vintage cars and swing dancers, present music from the 1930's to the 1950's. .

Sideline Swing are a 16 piece big band , featuring trumpets, trombones, saxophones and rhythm, led by trumpet player, Butch Green.

The band originally began 9 years ago as "The Down Under Roof Top Orchestra" playing music from the 1920's. The band changed their name in 1997 and now present music from the great dance bands from the 30's to the 50's. Sideline Swing play at regular swing dances and were the feature band at ENSOC's 2002 Ball.

FREE Friday Lunchtime concerts are proudly presented by Christchurch City Council Leisure.
