Raumati South Residents Group Gears Up

Following a successful first AGM the Raumati South Residents Group Committee met to take the first steps to address issues that were identified from its own survey as being of concern to local residents.

Priority for the 150 registered members was preserving the unique character and heritage of Raumati South by promoting appropriate development. The survey also highlighted resident concerns about safety, recreation facilities, community amenities, Queen Elizabeth Park, and the waterfront.

Encouraged by strong local support and interest, the Committee is enthusiastic about achieving the Group's Mission "To Preserve and Advance the Interests of Raumati South" .

The Committee is made up of a cross section of local residents contributing a wide ranging skills base with interests in urban design, the arts and the environment. The members of the Committee are : William Scollay (Chair) Rachel Kiel-Taylor (Deputy Chair) Jo Greening (Secretary/Treasurer) Daphne Steele , Lynley Bolland , Paul Brady, Julia Wakeling ,Phill Simmonds , Kimbra Taylor , Leon Kiel , Rex Harris , Cree Hatfield , Graeme Boucher , Gail Lewis , Jane Bradbury and David Simpson .

The next community meeting will be held on the 12th October 2003 at the Raumati South Memorial Hall, Tennis Crt Road at 2:30 PM
