NO GENERAL AERIAL OPERATION TOMORROW – FRIDAY, 20 FEBRUARY

There will be NO general aerial operation, against the painted apple moth, tomorrow - Friday, 20 February.

Because of continued windy conditions and forecast unsettled weather patterns the situation is unlikely to be suitable for the current aerial operation to resume tomorrow. Two of the five high-risk areas are still to be treated following the suspension of yesterday’s operation due to high winds.

All treatment days are subject to suitable weather. The situation is being closely monitored and the operation will resume tomorrow or on the next suitable day to complete the remaining 400 hectares in Waikumete Cemetery and Ranui/Swanson.

Up-to-date details and a map of the aerial treatment areas is available on-line at
www.maf.govt.nz/paintedapplemoth or the public can call the free information line
0800 96 96 96 for an information pack.

To register for text or email updates, on the status of aerial operations, people can call the
free phone or visit the residents’ page on the website.

Status updates on general aerial operations are broadcast on More FM 91.8FM and Newstalk ZB 1080AM or 89.4FM.
