Latest General Aerial Operation Completed – Monday, 23 February 2004

The latest general aerial operation, against painted apple moth, was completed today – Monday, 23 February.

This morning’s operation started at first light in Waikumete Cemetery, it stopped between 8am and 9am for children walking to school, and treatment was completed in Ranui/Swanson at 9.15am.

“Having successfully completed this latest operation future aerial operations will now scale down and the next planned treatment will take place in the reduced aerial operation area of 701 hectares,” Robert Isbister, General Manager Painted Apple Moth Operations said today.

“Hobsonville and Motions/Meola Creek have already been removed from the next treatment planned for 9 March,” Mr Isbister said.

Weather permitting, the next date for a general aerial operation in the reduced area is scheduled for Tuesday, 9 March 2004. This operation will be carried out in the remaining three risk areas - Ranui/Swanson, Riverpark and Waikumete Cemetery.
