Children's workshops at Artstation this Easter

Children's workshops at Artstation this Easter

Parents will have more than chocolate to keep their children happy this Easter thanks to Artstation’s holiday art workshops.

The workshops run during the school holidays from 13 to 23 April and cater for children aged between 5 and 14 years.

A range of two and three dimensional art activities are on offer, including sculpture, drawing and painting, making a camera and learning about photography, silkscreen printing and making papier mache pinatas.

Once back at school, children have the opportunity to continue their art interests by attending Saturday and after school weekly art sessions.

Artstation engages skilled tutors who are practising artists and experts in their field to teach the children’s classes. The sessions are process and skills based and offer a variety of media in a professional studio situation. Tutors encourage learning through a range of fun activities. They identify each child’s unique skills and differences and provide individual support and feedback.

Artstation, Auckland City’s community visual arts facility, is located at the old police barracks at 1 Ponsonby Rd, Newton. It is easy to get to by public transport with the Link’s ‘Artstation’ bus stop right outside.
