Britomart precinct plans ready for final council sign off

The Auckland City Council will review the final plans for the restoration and development of the Britomart precinct next week.

The special working party with responsibility for negotiations with the developer, the Bluewater Consortium, is now ready to make its recommendation at next Thursday’s council meeting.

“I’m very pleased to say that negotiations with the Bluewater Consortium ended last week and the Working Party will be recommending that the full council approves the final plans and commercial arrangements for the Britomart precinct development,” said Councillor Douglas Armstrong, chair of the Britomart Working Party.

“It’s important to stress that this is still subject to the approval of the full council but we are hopeful that next Friday we will unveil the exciting plans for the largest heritage restoration project in the country.”
