No General Aerial Operation, Against The Painted
Apple Moth, Tomorrow - Wednesday, 12 May

There will be NO aerial operation, against painted apple moth, tomorrow – Wednesday, 12 May.

This final scheduled aerial operation, to treat the one remaining small area in Ranui/Swanson, has been postponed. Weather forecasts continue to predict high winds throughout the week and rain is likely tomorrow, making conditions unsuitable for an aerial operation.

Weather conditions will be closely monitored over the next 24 hours and the situation will be reviewed tomorrow, as to an operation starting on Thursday, 13 May or on the next day that weather permits.

Following the completion of this final aerial operation, covering 253 hectares in Ranui/Swanson, there are no further areas scheduled for treatment.

To check on the status of aerial operations the public can listen to More FM (91.8FM) or Newstalk ZB (89.4FM or 1080AM). People can also call the free information line 0800 96 96 96 or visit the residents’ page online at www.paintedapplemoth.govt.nz for up-to-date details.

One of the best ways to find out about aerial operations is to register for email or text message status updates. The public can register for these by calling 0800 96 96 96 or by visiting the residents’ page at the above website.

A map of the scaled down treatment area and up-to-date information about the painted apple moth eradication programme is also available on the residents’ page on the website.
