Delayed Start To Final Aerial Operation Against The Painted Apple Moth Expected On Today – Thursday, 13 May 2004

The final scheduled aerial operation, against painted apple moth, is expected to go ahead in Ranui/Swanson today – Thursday, 13 May 2004 – however the start time has been delayed.

Delays are expected this morning due to localised fog in the Ranui/Swanson area and the starting time for the operation has been postponed pending an improvement in the weather later this morning. It is expected that the final treatment in Ranui/Swanson will start today at 9.00am and finish before 10.00am this morning.

Even though the aircraft may be in the air there will be no treatment between 8.00am and 9.00am as children walk to school.

Scheduled aerial operations have been scaled down to this one remaining small area covering 253 hectares in Ranui/Swanson. Following the treatment of this area. Ranui/Swanson will be taken off the treatment schedule and the phasing out of scheduled aerial operations will be complete.
