Te Taumata Runanga appointments
Te
Warena Taua has been re-elected Chairman of Waitakere City
Council’s Te Taumata Runanga. Mr Taua is kaumätua of Te
Kawerau A Maki.
Deputy Chair is Mihi Te Huia, a long term
resident of Te Atatu and a member of the Te Atatu Marae
Development Group.
The other members of Te Taumata Runanga
are Fraser Delamere (representing : Hoani Waititi
Marae),Wiremu Hetaraka (Te Piringa Tahi O Te Maungarongo),
Poata Northcroft (Roopu Kaumatua Te O Waipareira
Mayor
Bob Harvey (ex officio), Councillor Pat Booth and Councillor
Judy Lawley represent Waitakere City Council.
Te Taumata
Runanga has the status of a Standing Committee of the
Council, and reports to the Council.
The committee’s
purpose is to ensure Maori values are considered in the
Council's decision making and that the needs of the Maori
community are considered in effective service
provision.
