Free open air cinema postponed due to weather

Due to rains and increasing winds, Auckland City has had to postpone the free film screening being held in Aotea Square tomorrow, Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 December.

The ten New Zealand short films due to screen will now show some time in March 2005.

The event director, Pitsch Leiser says, “It is very disappointing, but the weather is just too unpredictable so we are postponing the screenings till a later stage.”

The screenings are part of a larger series of ‘happenings’ called ‘Living Room’, which runs until 8 April 2005.

‘Living Room’ is a pilot project that is part of Auckland’s CBD Into the future strategy, which aims to transform Auckland’s CBD into one of the world’s most vibrant and dynamic business and cultural centres.

There will be more ‘happenings’ taking place in January, people should watch out for the Living Room postcards for details.
