SummerTimes always big fun at Barrington Park

The annual community event, Barrington Big Fun at Barrington Park, returns on Sunday 20 February from 11am to 2pm, with an exciting line-up of stage entertainment, stalls, and guaranteed free fun for the whole family!

Barrington Park will be transformed into an area of entertainment and activity with lots of things to do and enjoy. A kite-making workshop will keep the children amused, as well as a bouncy castle, balloon animals, donkey rides and much more. People of all ages will enjoy the entertainment on the stage, with a variety of local bands and groups performing. The Book Bus is scheduled to pay a visit, complete with storytellers.

Members of the Scenic Circle Canterbury Rams basketball team will demonstrate skills and encourage children and youth to take part at shooting hoops. A variety of stalls from local community groups selling great food, craft and assorted household items will be on site, so you won¡¦t need to pack a picnic lunch. Bring the whole family down for a fabulous time!

The event is hosted by Christchurch City Council¡¦s Community and Recreation unit, with funding from Spreydon-Heathcote Community Board. It¡¦s a free event open to everyone.

To find out more, call the Council on 941 6840 or visit www.summertimes.co.nz for details of all SummerTimes„· events.
