Concern for missing Auckland woman grows

Concern for missing woman grows

Ten nights have passed and neither Police nor Amanda Gardner's family have heard from or about her.

The 29 year-old school teacher was last seen by a member of her family in Epsom on the morning of May 23. She is believed to be driving her car - a 1987 Honda Integra four-door saloon with the registration number TG 4866.

Sergeant Matt Srhoj [pron Sir-hoi] of Balmoral Police says her disappearance is of great concern considering the normal checks and searches that have been done, have not turned up any sign of her.

"We've put out an alert to all staff about her car, done aerial and land searches for it at local and west coast beaches, we've informed the Department of Conservation along with Fisheries Officers to keep an eye out for it, but nothing substantive has come of our efforts to date."

Amanda's family says she loves coastal areas and may be staying somewhere remote.

Police would like to hear from anyone who thinks they've seen Amanda Gardner or her car over the last 10 days. Information can go to Sergeant Matt Srhoj on 09 631 1026.
