Volunteer Leaders needed for July School Holiday Programmes

Christchurch City Council needs volunteers for its July holiday programmes, which offer a range of activities for children aged 5 to 12 during the school holidays.

If you're over 16 and have experience or skills in sports, arts or crafts, of coaching children, running playschemes or childcare, you could be just what the Council is looking for. It's a great opportunity to gain new skills, and you won't be out of pocket, as you'll receive a generous daily allowance to cover your expenses.

As a Volunteer Leader, you'll be helping out at one of the 10 programme locations across the city. A typical day could include organising games and activities, coordinating trips, as well as supervising and supporting the children taking part. You'll need lots of enthusiasm, a strong sense of fun, and not be afraid of getting stuck in to anything from clay to cookery!

Volunteers must be able to commit to at least one week of volunteering, on weekdays from Monday 11 to Friday 22 July, 9am to 3pm. They will be reimbursed $25.30 a day to cover travel and meal expenses. Volunteers will be screened by a police check and will need to sign a volunteer agreement with the Council.
