Meet the candidates on air

Community Radio Hamilton’s weekly political show ‘Left Right and Centre’ hosts local parliamentary candidates in a special four-week series, beginning Monday, 22 August from 8-10am.

The weekly shows, presented by Louise Upston, will offer Waikato voters the opportunity to hear from local candidates vying for election in the Hamilton East, Hamilton West, and Piako electorates.

Candidates have fifteen minutes to make their case for election – presenting their views on important issues, and outlining the skills and benefits they have to offer their electorate. Each show will be repeated on the following Tuesday evening from 8-10pm.

Community Radio Hamilton, in association with the Waikato Business News, will also host ‘Taking on the Spin’ – a public meet the candidates event with a difference. Candidates will face a wheel of fortune and audience questions at The Bank Bar and Brasserie’s upstairs bar from 5.15pm on Wednesday, 7 September.

“We want to encourage people to make an informed choice about who will best represent them after the election,” says Phil Grey, Community Radio Hamilton’s general manager.

Community Radio Hamilton broadcasts on AM1206 Waikato wide, or on 106.7FM within Hamilton City. For more information contact the Station on telephone 07 834 2170.
