Dyes Pass Road, Summit Road Closures
Monday, 19 September 2005, 9:42 am
Press Release: Christchurch City Council
Christchurch City Council has shut Dyers Pass Road from the
Sign of the Takahe up and the Summit Road due to this
morning's snowfall. Because there is no way to get over the
hills above Cashmere, there are cautionary Road Closed signs
at the bottom of Hackthorne and Dyers Pass roads. It is
likely that because the bottom ends of these two roads are
very slippery, they too will be fully closed in the next
half hour. The Council advises all drivers on hill roads to
avoid travelling if possible and all other drivers to take
care and reduce their speed.
CCC contractor Onxy advises
its refuse and recycling collection trucks will not be
working on the hills and we will advise shortly on other
collection
areas.
