Monday, 19 September 2005, 3:49 pm
Press Release: Christchurch City Council
This note updates that sent at 12.24am
Council contractors
have cleared Dyers Pass and Hackthorne roads and these have
been reopened.
Summit Road remains closed.
Redbus
services have returned to normal but the company warns
passengers that if there are hard frosts or more snow
overnight, some services may not be operating tomorrow
morning. This is especially true of its hill runs.
Many
other streets along the hills remain slippery and dangerous
and the Council cautions drivers to take care.
Refuse
collection: People whose streets were on today's collection
runs are asked to take their bags and recyclables bins off
the kerbside.
Police: The Christchurch police are asking
all drivers to take care, to increase their following
distances and reduce their speed.
