High prices for rare beachfront Waimarama property

Media Release December 23, 2005

High price expected for rare beachfront Waimarama property

A Waimarama beach front property could fetch the highest price ever for a Hawke’s Bay coastal property.

The highest price previously paid for a property at Waimarama was $970,000 in February 2003 for a beach front house on Harper Rd.

Tremain Real Estate marketing consultant Alison Small said there is huge interest in coastal property in Hawke’s Bay and this property has already attracted local, national and international interest.

Although an auction date of January 28 has been set, the 1118m property with a batch along with other accommodation, could sell before this date.

“Beach front property’s, like this, come onto the market very rarely and this will be most sought after,” Mrs Small said.

“It is an exceptional property,” she added.

Mrs Small has listed and sold many houses and sections at Waimarama and said there had been a significant increase in demand and prices in recent years.

Tremains have also listed a subdivision at Waimarama and marketing consultant Craig Rawcliffe says interest will be high due to only a small number of sections for sale over the last five years.

Three of the eight sections were sold earlier in the year and the remaining five range in size from 1152-1917m.

The subdivision borders a freshwater stream and has over 2500 native plantings. Rarity of offerings like this means that interest is expected to be high.

The sections are for sale by tender, which closes on January 26.
