The time is right for Dancing in the Street #2

AUCKLAND CITY COUNCIL MEDIA RELEASE

3 February 2006

The time is right for Dancing in the Street #2

Aucklanders are invited back to shake their booty on the city's streets on 17 February at Auckland City's next free dance party.

Hosted by 95bFM's Nick D, Dancing in the Street #2 features premiere drum n' bass duo Concord Dawn, electronic dance music wizard Baitercell with vocalist Bex Riley, and 95bFM DJs Havoc and Nick D.

Dancing in the Street is a celebration of New Zealand music for all ages, featuring the cream of Auckland's finest DJs and bands.

The programme of free street parties, a component of Auckland City's Music in Parks series, are held once a month from January through March on Friday evenings (8pm to midnight), just in front of the Auckland Public Library in closed-to-traffic Lorne Street.

If you missed out on U2 tickets for 17 March, get yourself down to the final street party that night because there won't be many other free opportunities to see multi New Zealand Music Award winner P-Money doing some wicked scratchin'. Also performing are rap/hip hop duo Frontline, top vocalist and MC Ladi6, hip hop crew PNC, and 95bFM's DJs D-Form and Mouli spinning up a storm to produce some high-voltage dance floor anthems.

The Dancing in the Street series is produced by Auckland City, with support from 95bFM. They are just some of more than 60 free events provided by Auckland City as part of the Ak@Play summer events programme. Check www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/mips or listen to 95bFM for more details.
