Dunedin Police are warning drivers in and around Dunedin to exercise extreme caution on all roads in the area due to treacherous icy conditions.
Ice has been reported on most of the arterial routes through Dunedin as well as on the highways south and north of Dunedin.
Police suggest motorists monitor the weather and road conditions and only drive if absolutely necessary until conditions improve.
Where driving is essential, drivers should exercise extreme caution and avoid using the hill areas as icy conditions are worst in these areas.
