Temporary relocation for some Queen Street bus stops

The next stage of work in the Queen Street upgrade will bring temporary changes for bus passengers beginning Sunday, 16 July 2006.

During work between Wakefield and Wellesley streets, the following bus stops for Dominion Road and some NiteRider services will be temporarily relocated.

Dominion Road:

The St James bus stop moves to outside the Auckland University of Technology, Mayoral Drive.

Affected routes: 250, 253, 255, 256, 258, 262, 265, 266, 267, 25F, 26F (including flyer and express buses)

Effective: Sunday, 16 July 2006

NiteRider:

The St James bus stop moves to Wellesley Street West between Albert and Elliott streets.

Affected routes:

Route N24 via Sandringham Road

Route N26 via Dominion Road

Route N31 via Manukau Road

Route N47 via Great South Road

Route N50 via Ellerslie-Panmure Hwy

Route N62 via Remuera Road

Effective: Friday, 21 July 2006

The bus stops will remain at these temporary locations until further notice. Bus departure times will remain the same.

The upgrade of Queen Street is part of the council’s 10-year Auckland’s CBD Into the future strategy, which aims to revitalise the CBD as a dynamic and vibrant centre of cultural and business activity.
