Discover your creative side with
ARTS IN THE CITY

The latest edition of Manukau’s ‘Arts in the City” catalogue is now available providing opportunities for everyone, from preschoolers through to the more mature amongst us, to discover the artist within, learn something new and get inspired.

Courses on offer at Nathan Homestead include hip hop, abstract painting, comic and cartoon art, jewellery construction and design and digital photography and flax weaving. Many of the classes are led by professional artists.

Otara Music Arts Centre is hosting their popular guitar, piano, drum and singing lessons. OMAC’s own refurbished recording studio, and unique SoundHouse music technology suite, offers community access to an array of technology and professional sound equipment.

Enrolments for Term 3 are now open and classes start on 17 July. Contact one of our arts centres today to enrol.

Exhibition dates for Nathan Homestead, Mangere Arts Centre and Fresh Gallery Otara from July through to December 2006 are also featured. A feature of the exhibitions schedule is the inclusion of local emerging and professional visual artists.

Copies of ‘Arts in the City” are available from all Manukau art centres, leisure centres, libraries or by phoning Nathan Homestead - 267 0180, Otara Music Arts Centre - 274 6400 or Mangere Arts Centre 275 0482 or can be downloaded from council’s website www.manukau.govt.nz.
