CMJ traffic bulletin: Saturday 8 July until Thursday 13 July

Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures for work on the Central Motorway Junction upgrade over the next week.

CMJ Stage 1
Ramp and link closures:
Monday 10 until Thursday 13 July - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 5.30am the following morning:
. Gillies Ave on-ramp to Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound

Monday 10 until Thursday 13 July - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 5.30am the following morning:
. Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound off-ramp to Khyber Pass Road

Monday 10 until Thursday 13 July - CLOSED - overnight from 8pm until 5.30am the following morning:
. Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound to Port off-ramp

CMJ Stage 2
Full motorway closures:
Sunday 9 until Thursday 13 July - CLOSED - overnight from 9.30pm until 5am the following morning:
. Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound between Cook St off-ramp and Hobson St on-ramp

Sunday 9 July - CLOSED - overnight from 10.30pm until 5am the following morning:
. Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound between Symonds/Port /Wellesley St off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp

Ramp and link closures:
Saturday 8 until Monday 10 July - CLOSED - during the day and at night from 7pm on Saturday until 5am on Monday:
. Port to Northwestern Motorway and Wellesley St on-ramp (SH16 westbound) link

Sunday 9 until Thursday 13 July - CLOSED - overnight from 9pm until 5am the following morning:
. Western Springs on-ramp to Northwestern Motorway (SH16) eastbound

Sunday 9 until Thursday 13 July - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 5am the following morning:
. Hobson St on-ramp to Northwestern Motorway (SH16) westbound

Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 July - CLOSED - overnight from 10.30pm until 5am the following morning:
. Southern Motorway to Northwestern Motorway (SH1 to SH16 link) westbound

Sunday 9 and Monday 10 July - CLOSED - overnight from 9pm until 5am the following morning:
. Northwestern Motorway (SH16) eastbound to Port link
. Northwestern Motorway to Southern Motorway ( SH16 to SH1) southbound link

During these times motorists are requested to follow the signposted detours while the closures are in operation.

Transit New Zealand regrets any inconvenience caused.

In the event of inclement weather, the closures will be postponed to the next fine evening.

The CMJ Project
Stage 1 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project, completed in January 2005, covers the section of motorway between the Upper Queen St over-bridge and Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps.

Stage 2 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project extends from Bond St on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to the interface with CMJ Stage 1 near Symonds St and from Cook St on the Southern Motorway (SH1) to Symonds St. The SH16 Newton Rd to Western Springs Auxiliary Lane westbound widening project is included in CMJ Stage 2 works.

9.00am - 4.30pm, Friday 9.00am - 4.00pm, and Saturday by prior booking only.
