ChCh City Council announces vehicle policy review

Christchurch City Council announces vehicle policy review

The Christchurch City Council is looking to improve the way it manages its fleet of vehicles. It is reviewing its vehicle policy to find the most cost-effective means of providing transportation for staff that meets business needs and contributes to a cleaner environment.

The proposed policy changes include reducing the size of the fleet, consolidating vehicles into one pool, reviewing allocation and authorised use, and improving reporting on use statistics. There is a potential to save around $400,000 a year from the proposed changes, if they are accepted.

Consultation on the draft policy with council staff and unions opened today (24 August) and runs until 8 September.
