Tickets to the Wairoa Maori Film Festival are Available Now!

Tickets are available now in Wairoa at:

* To Purchase from Wairoa Visitors Centre, Paul Street, Wairoa (EFT/POS, Credit, Cash) 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. * To Purchase from Festival Office, Gaiety Cinema, 252 Marine Parade, Wairoa (Cash Sales Only) 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Daily from Thursday 19th), and 30 mins. prior to each evening screening * Door Sales at Takitimu Marae, 30 mins. prior to each screening (all day) this Labour Weekend

Tickets are also available from all Ticketek offices nationwide, by calling Ticketek on 09 307 500, and on the Ticketek website at:

(3) LATE CONFIRMATIONS

Two EXTRA late confirmation screenings have now been scheduled into the Wairoa Maori Film Festival. Tickets to these two screenings will be available exclusively from the Festival Office, and via Door Sales at Takitimu Marae:

I KNOW I'M NOT ALONE A musicians journey through war in the Middle East. Michael Franti, world-renowned musician and human rights worker, travels to Iraq, Palestine and Israel to explore the human cost of war with a group of friends, some video cameras and his guitar. * Screening: I Know I’m Not Alone, Takitimu Marae, 4.00 p.m. Monday October 23rd 2006

ANS WESTRA: PRIVATE JOURNEYS/PUBLIC SIGNPOSTS Ans Westra, whose photographs of New Zealanders constitute a uniquely expressive record of who we are and have been, now sits for the camera herself. Contemplating her career with amusement and gratitude, she speaks as one for whom photography is as natural and indispensable as seeing or remembering. Framed by a conversation with Hone Tuwhare, the film roundly acknowledges the progressive role her work played in 60s counterculture and in the cultural renaissance of Maori. * Screening: Ans Westra Private Journeys/ Public Signposts, Takitimu Marae, 4.00 p.m. Sunday October 22nd 2006
