NW motorway (SH16) traffic bulletin 1.12.06

Auckland Regional Office

1 December 2006

Northwestern motorway (SH16) traffic bulletin:

Transit New Zealand reminds motorists that temporary lane changes are in place on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) citybound.

From Monday 13 November:

* All lanes in the direction of the Newton Rd, Nelson St and the Southern Motorway off-ramps have moved to the left
* A second dedicated lane from SH16 to the Port is in place on the right hand side

Delays are expected especially during the morning peak times and Transit New Zealand apologises in advance for any inconvenience caused.

Those travelling from Great North Rd and the Western Springs on-ramp to the CBD are advised to consider using the new dedicated lane from SH16 to the Port, on the far right hand side – to access the Wellesley St exit.

Motorists are advised to drive with caution and check the overhead signs for their destination.

The changes are in place as part of preparations for the completion of the new motorway-to- motorway links in the Central Motorway Junction, which are designed to increase capacity from the Northwestern Motorway citybound.

Further notices will advise of any other lane changes as appropriate.
