Rotorua Man Arrested For Abduction Of 13 Year Old Girl

There's been a significant development in the ongoing investigation by Henderson CIB into the abduction and sexual assault of a 13 year old girl in Glen Eden two weeks ago.
Detectives today went to Rotorua where they arrested a 54 year old car salesman who is currently residing in the city.
Police have charged the man with Abduction, Sexual Violation, and Assault with intent to commit Sexual Violation of a girl aged between 12 and 16 years.
Detective Sergeant Megan GOLDIE of the Waitakere Police Child Abuse Team says, there are a number of further enquiries yet to be completed, but this arrest is a significant development in the investigation.
"Police particularly acknowledge the many members of the public who gave us information after the abduction," Megan GOLDIE said.
The arrested man will appear in the Rotorua District Court tomorrow Monday 16 July 2007.
