KCDC Candidate Gets On Track
KCDC Candidate Gets On Track
The leader of Kapiti’s Transport Action Group, Lyndy McIntyre, will be returning to Paraparaumu Station yet again tomorrow morning - but this time as an aspiring District Councillor.
She’ll be accompanied by a large group of supporters and Kapiti’s unique railway station performer, ‘Banjo Bernie’.
Lyndy McIntyre will tell commuters that public transport is now an election priority.
She will be calling for free buses to enable more Raumati commuters to get to the station and catch trains, instead of using their cars.
And she will also be demanding a moratorium on any fare rises until there are improvements in the rail service.
As the person who more than anyone else helped get action on new trains from the Regional Council, Lyndy can expect a good reception from commuters she has been campaigning for over the past 18 months.
