Group Manager leaving

Group Manager leaving

Dr Gael Ferguson, Group Manager Strategy & Partnerships for Kapiti Coast District Council has announced her resignation from the Council.

“Gael Ferguson has taken a major leadership role in working with the Council and staff to shape the strategic basis for the Council’s plans and programmes,” Chief Executive Leigh Halstead said today.

“Her vision and insight over the past five years have presented the Council with clear options and opportunities and effective ways to address numerous issues. Her ability to make clear connections and to simplify complex issues facing the Kapiti Coast District will be greatly missed,” he said.

New Kapiti Coast District Mayor Jenny Rowan, a Paekakariki Community Board member in the previous triennium, reiterated Mr Halstead’s comments and said she had developed a great appreciation for Gael’s ability to explore difficult issues in depth.

“Gael’s contribution will be missed not only by the Council but by the wider community. She’s a leader in her field in New Zealand and the loss of her input into the critical issues ahead of us will leave a major gap,” Mayor Rowan said.

“We’re pleased that she’ll be able to work through the initial stages of some of these issues with the new Council before she leaves on March 28 next year.”

Mr Halstead and Mayor Rowan both wished Gael well in the future on behalf of the staff, the Council and the community of the Kapiti Coast District.
