Police Arrest Man In Matauri Bay Incident

Police have arrested a 54-year-old man in connection with an Armed Offenders call-out at Matauri Bay in Northland this afternoon.
The man will appear in the Kaikohe District Court tomorrow on charges relating to the incident.
Police officers, with the assistance of the Armed Offenders Squad, entered a house about 6.15pm this evening and took the man into custody.
Police are continuing their inquiries into the incident and are now talking to other people who were located at the address.
The road blocks in the area have been lifted and residents are now allowed back into their homes.
