Waitati Volunteer Fire Brigade

Waitati Volunteer Fire Brigade

We are currently over 50 fire calls for the year and still have one month to go. This is generally our busiest time of year for fire calls so we would like people to be extra careful and vigilant over the coming months.

We will soon be losing a very valued person of our team and I am sure everyone in the brigade and also the community will be extremely sorry to see her go.

The volunteer brigade is always looking for people to join its team of fire fighters, especially day time members. If you are willing to give up some of your spare time and energy to help protect the community and others please do not hesitate to get in contact with Chief Fire Officer Jeff Burrow on 482-2233 or Deputy Chief Lindsay Scott 482-1660. We also practice every Monday evening at the Waitati Volunteer Fire Brigade in Harvey Street, at the time of 7.30, so if you want to come and meet the members and find out what we do, please do not be shy.

We would also like to thank the Blueskin community for the very quiet Guy Fawkes season and long may this trend continue.

The Fire Brigade will be involved with the Community Can Appeal again this year so when you hear the fire appliance coming around the district please delve into those cupboards and give generously.

From all of us at the Brigade have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Fire fighter/Secretary
