Remember lost loved ones at Memorial Gardens

Media Release
26 November 2007

Take time-out to remember lost loved ones this Christmas at Manukau Memorial Gardens

Manukau Memorial Gardens invite residents to take time-out during the Christmas rush to remember and reflect on those loved ones who won’t be with them during the festive season.

Two Remembrance Days will be held at the gardens on Sunday 9 December and Monday 10 December. During this time, the chapel will be open to everyone between 10am and 3pm.

Manukau Memorial Garden’s Manager Noelene Mudgway says the idea for the Remembrance Days was inspired by similar days held in other large cities overseas.

“I would like to extend a warm invitation to all our residents. Everyone is welcome to visit our chapel and take some time-out to remember their lost loved ones before the hectic holiday season.”

The theme for this year is Angels. Christmas trees will be set-up close to the chapel and visitors will have the opportunity to place an angel or star accompanied by a personal message to their lost loved ones on the tree. A gold coin donation will be accepted on behalf of Counties Manukau Victim Support.

Reflective readings will be held on both days at 10am, 1pm and 3pm. However visitors are welcome to visit the chapel at anytime between 10am and 3pm.
