SUBJECT: Eight People In Christchurch Hospital After
Car Crash
Eight people are in Christchurch Hospital
after two cars collided on State Highway One near Leathfield
Beach in North Canterbury this morning.
One person is in a
critical condition, two are stable but in a serious
condition, two people are stable with moderate injuries and
another three people are in a stable condition. The crash
occurred at 11.35am today on SH1, just south of the turn off
to Leathfield Beach.
Several people were airlifted to
Christchurch Hospital while the remainder were taken by
road.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the
crash.
