Man's Disappearance A Puzzle

The disappearance of a 38-year-old Lower Hutt man Harold Alamoti Taipa Skudder has puzzled his family and Lower Hutt Police.

Detective Sergeant Dean Simpson, Lower Hutt CIB, said Mr Skudder was last seen by relatives in the Taita shopping centre in late January. He had no permanent home, worked on a casual basis and does not have a bank account or known access to a vehicle.

Mr Skudder is described as Maori, thinly built, approximately 175cm to 180cm tall, with heavily tattooed hands and arms. When last seen in January he had long grey hair and a grey beard.

Detective Sergeant Simpson said Mr Skudder has family associations in the Lower Hutt and Te Puke areas, but he hasn't been in contact with anyone and his family is now concerned.

"There's nothing to indicate his disappearance is suspicious, and he doesn't have any health issues that we're aware of," Detective Sergeant Simpson said. "His family would just like to know that he is okay.

"If anyone knows where he is, or has any information that will help find him, then please contact us. All information will be treated confidentially."
