Regional Council Supporting Regional Projects

$75,000 of Targeted Assistance Funding

Hawke's Bay Regional Council has committed $75,000 in targeted assistance funding, supporting the development of important local education and arts programmes.

Through this targeted assistance funding, Council is keen to establish long term relationships with specific organisations which can add value to Council's work.

Funding has been allocated to organisations whose approach is consistent with Council's strategic vision for a vibrant community, a prosperous economy and a clean and healthy environment, now and for future generations.

Funds were allocated to

* ECOED for development of an outdoor and environmental education centre for use by schools and the public on land adjacent to the Pan Pac Kiwi Creche at Lake Opouahi

* Sustaining Hawke's Bay Trust to support further environmental education and waste minimisation services

* Creative Hawke's Bay to support their operational costs

* Napier Boys' High School to assist with their hostel replacement programme.
