Here’s Something to Tell Your Friends!

Auckland Chamber of Commerce chief executive Michael Barnett says amidst often negative business sentiment he is heartened by the inspirational service being delivered by many Auckland businesses.

The Chamber, along with Newstalk ZB, supports the ASB Awesome Service Awards which salute people in business who go out of their way to care for their customers.

“Here is a fantastic example. Someone in Napier hired three wedding suits from Peter Jacobsen’s company, Exclusive Suit Hire. Peter sent the suits by courier in plenty of time, but the courier company lost two of them. He could simply have blamed the courier company. Instead he chartered a Cessna 172 to fly two replacement suits from Auckland to Napier, without even checking how much it was going to cost him.”

The suits were delivered directly to the wedding venue in the nick of time.

Mr Barnett says other award-winning customer care stories are available in the “Winners Archive” on www.awesomeservice.co.nz.“I encourage other Aucklanders who get great service to tell us so we can reward them with a public pat on the back that money can’t buy.”

“Great business service is in the glue that helps hold New Zealand together.”
