Holidaymakers are in for a treat this summer, with affordable, exciting and environmentally friendly, nature-based tours. Forest and Bird have put together a family-friendly adventure programme featuring the top places to see the wild places and wildlife of Manawatu.
Running
for the first time over seven summer weekends, the half day
and full day excursions on a carbon zero bus are excellent
value for visitors to see the real New Zealand beyond the
crowded tourist circuit.
All trips are led by expert
guides with in-depth knowledge on wildlife and
plants.

the region's largest trees up close - giant kahikatea, rata,
rimu and totara.

Lagoon
Discover this peaceful oasis set amongst coastal
dunes. It's a birdwatcher's delight. Binoculars
available.
