A woman was extradited by Waikato Police from Australia overnight to face kidnapping charges in the Hamilton District Court today.
Acting Waikato Crime Services Manager, Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Nicholls, said the charges related to the alleged role the 36-year-old Hamilton woman played in an August 2006 kidnapping.
"The woman was arrested in Australia on the 29th of January and was held in custody until the arrival of our staff to escort her back from trial.
"She was kept in custody overnight and is due to appear in court this today," he said.
