Police reviewing the case of a missing Hauraki Plains woman searched an area near Ngatea today trying to find her remains.

Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Greene said Sara Neithe was 32 when she went missing in 2003.

The mother of three hasn't been seen since.

"Today a team of three Police, ESR scientists and two contractors went to an area previously used to farm peat near Ngatea in an attempt to find matters of relevance to the case.

"This came about after the latest of a number of reviews of the case, however nothing of relevance was found during the search," said Mr Greene.

Mr Greene said Police would continue to follow up information as it came to hand and said the investigation team welcomed any new information.

"We've spoken to Ms Neithe's family about our activities and the family responded that they were pleased the case was still active and Police would act on any new information."

Anyone with information related to the disappearance of Sara Neithe is asked to contact Mr Greene via the Hamilton Central Police Station on 07 858 6200.
