Location of incident: Mount Maunganui

Incident type: Severe weather

Mt Maunganui Police report they are evacuating Bayfair Shopping Centre due to flooding. The flooding is as a result of severe weather in the area, which is also manifesting in white ice on State Highway 2. The weather appears to be heading towards Te Puke.
