Hastings police are investigating the deaths of three people at a Haumoana house.

Detective Senior Sergeant Dave de Lange of Hastings CIB says the bodies of the three people were discovered just before 10am today by a family member who was visiting the house.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

Mr de Lange said no more information was available at this time on the identity of the people or how they died.

“We are in the early stages of the investigation and it is far too early to confirm these sorts of details. Our investigative team is at the scene at the moment and it will take some time to ascertain the facts. Until that happens, we are in no position to talk publicly and in any detail about what has happened at the house and who is involved,” he said.

Mr de Lange said no weapons were found at the property.

Haumoana is a small coastal community near Hastings.
