Coach passenger makes bomb threat

Location: Munroe St, Napier District: Eastern

At approximately 11:35 this morning a male passenger on a coach that is parked at the Napier Travel Centre (Munroe St) has threatened that he has an improvised explosive device on his persons.

All passengers and members of the public have been evacuated from the immediate area and there does not appear to be any risk to other people. The area has been cordoned off and Police asking members of the public are asked to keep away from the area.

Police and Defence specialist units have been deployed to the area and are dealing with the incident.

The males' details and issues are unknown at this stage.
