Manurewa Safety Day – Saturday 31 October 2009

Safety Day makes a welcome return to Manurewa Library on Saturday, 31 October.

Bring the kids along to enjoy police car rides, explore the police paddy wagon or watch a fire safety demonstration on the Fire Service’s kitchen trailer.  Civil Defence Manukau will also be there to raise awareness of what to do in a civil emergency.

Check out Injury Free Counties Manukau’s Home Driveway Safety demonstration, or try your luck at WaterSafe’s fishing competition and DSS Animal Management’s Guess the Dog Breed Competition.

Visit all the attractions and complete the quiz for a chance to win a hamper.  A free bouncy castle is also provided.

For anyone looking for some ‘better work stories’ the police recruitment team will be on hand during the day.

Aimed at safety education for children, the event is a joint initiative of the library, New Zealand Fire Service, New Zealand Police, WaterSafe Auckland, DSS Animal Management, Injury Free Counties Manukau, ACC Safer Rohe and Civil Defence Manukau.
