Special event for users of Mobility Scooters
Thames hosts launch of inaugural multi-agency Motor Scooter event
Mobility Scooter users from around the District are invited to Thames for the first in a series of safety-themed meetings.
The event will provide answers to questions about using Mobility Scooters, the opportunity to learn skills to help users stay safe and information on the latest road rules.
Caregivers, family and people considering purchasing a Mobility Scooter are also invited.
"The invitation is an opportunity for all Mobility Scooter Users to enjoy a social get-together and learn practical skills with like minded mobility scooter users over a cup of tea," said TCDC Road Safety Co-ordinator Ingrid Le Fevre.
The inaugural event is a collaborative effort facilitated by Thames-Coromandel District Council (TCDC), Thames/Hauraki Health & Disability Resource Centre Trust and Home Health & Mobility's Gary Darkes. It will be held in Thames at the Apostolic Church on Mackay Street on Wednesday 18 November from 10:30am - 12:00.
