Police are seeking witnesses to an attempted aggravated robbery that occurred at approximately 10.15pm on Thursday 3rd December at the Diamond Horse takeaway shop in Mangere Bridge.
Two males entered the shop armed with a machete and a long-rifle type firearm. They presented the weapons at the occupants and demanded money, however were unable to access the till.
They exited the shop and got into a white box-type car parked on McIntyre Road, where a third person was waiting for them.
The first male is described as Maori or Polynesian, fat build, 20-25 years old with brown eyes. He had a green bandana wrapped around his lower face and was wearing black gloves and carrying a long rifle type firearm.
The second male is described as Maori or Polynesian, aged 15-20 years old, with brown eyes. The lower half of his face was covered with a red bandana and he was wearing black gloves and was carrying a machete type knife.
There is no description for the third person who was the driver of the get away car.
Police have concerns over the offender's behaviour as there is potential for people to get hurt.
